Collaboration, communication, conversation, productivity, (sharing) knowledge.. just a few keywords of a useful intranet.
Deloitte’s existing intranet faced challenges to meet those terms. Coinciding with a new brand identity, it was time to rethink the platform and make it available on every device.
To collect input for the UX design, we held workshops with Deloitte’s various department representatives and internal communication key figures.
The dashboard is the start-of-the-day environment on the intranet. The first thing that appears when a employee starts her workstation, the dashboard contains personalised content and tools. These ‘good defaults’ can be customised to a certain extend by the employee to provide further personalisation.
The dashboard contains featured, recent and popular news, tools, support notifications, upcoming events and a banner area for internal advertisement and broadcast purposes.
Search and navigation
The prominent search box leads to SharePoint’s search results page, with a variety of advanced filter options.
A ‘mega-dropdown’ provides an overview of the main menu items hierarchy. Notice that each function (department group) and it’s departments have their own space.
Conversation and sharing
Conversation is facilitated via a Yammer integration and selected news can be shared to public social media like Twitter and Facebook.
